| Neelgar started with about 6 craftswomen and 4 craftsmen in 1998, in Ahmedabad. These craftsperson were trained in shibori by Kamal herself. As the client base widened, the company started working with different craft techniques, and as a result involving more and more craftsperson in organization. Today about 500 crafts person in different villages are involved in the production process. The crafts people are doing shibori, block printing, baandhani, and Leheriya. The entire design development process is done in the studio .The samples are thus produced in house and than sent to the crafts person .The craftsperson thus starts producing them for the various shows. The company is involved in major research and revival projects, giving a new life to the dyeing crafts of India. Since 2005, we have been participating in craft fairs, art exhibitions, design shows all over the world |
